VIDEO - Be a cool kid this summer!

Far North District Libraries is inviting kids of all ages to join its summer reading programme these holidays.

Tamariki can luxuriate in the air-conditioned coolness of their local library and earn cool Taniwha trading cards in our special Raumati Toa summer programme. Complete quests to collect 15 Summer Reading Taniwha cards – 12 of which are common, three are rare. Swap cards with your mates to collect all 15!

You can earn taniwha cards by completing quests like these:

• Library Quest: Borrow a book, get a card.
• Museum Mystery: Visit Te Ahu Museum, complete quests, earn cards.
• Library Fun: Attend kids' programmes at any of our libraries, get more cards.
• Mayor Challenge: Chat with Mayor Moko, snag a card.
• Share Your Reads: Talk books with librarians, get cards.
• Explore Local Spots: Visit an iSite and learn about a local spot (one card), snap a photo of you there, and share with librarians for a card!
• Creative Makerspace: Complete projects, collect cards.
• Reading Log Rewards: Fill in your reading log, trade for two cards.
• Artistic Touch: Draw your Taniwha, trade with librarians to get a card.
• Upload a photo of you and your favourite card to social media and show the post to librarians to get a card.
