We maintain a range of facilities for Far North residents and visitors, including playgrounds, sports fields, swimming pools, walkways and reserves. We also own and maintain toilets, wharves and pontoons, cemeteries, libraries, community halls and housing for the elderly.

VIDEO - New square for Kaitāia's centre

Built on what used to be the Pak’nSave carpark, Kaitāia’s new town square now provides a central location to relax and enjoy some wonderful local artwork.

This kaupapa was part of the Te Hiku Open Spaces Revitalisation Project. The main feature of the square is a 7-metre-high sculpture by Awanui artist, BJ Natanahira made of stainless steel and tōtara called Te Rerenga Wai o Tangonge.
