We maintain a range of facilities for Far North residents and visitors, including playgrounds, sports fields, swimming pools, walkways and reserves. We also own and maintain toilets, wharves and pontoons, cemeteries, libraries, community halls and housing for the elderly.

VIDEO - Mayor Moko talks about speed limits

In his latest Karere Kahika video update, Mayor Moko Tepania clarifies the situation with speed limit changes around the district; outlines the next steps in deciding the fate of the Far North’s Māori ward and announces the State of the Far North event on 12 November 2024 that will address past, present and future issues affecting all local residents, businesses and organisations.

Those wishing to be a part of the inaugural State of the Far North address are encouraged to complete a short registration to secure their spot to attend the event here.
