Stage two of Ngawha Power Station extension kicks off today

Motorists on Ngawha Springs Road are being urged to drive with caution as work on stage two of the Ngawha Power Station extension gets underway today (5 October).

United Civil contractors will spend three months preparing platform foundations at 143 Ngawha Springs Road and Puia Road to pave the way for wider extension works commencing next year.

A traffic management plan will be in place, with the speed limit set to drop from 100km/hr to 50km/hr at the worksite to allow for trucks to safely cross the road throughout the day.

Motorists are therefore asked to slow down and be mindful of increased truck movements in the area.

In addition to the works, the road will also be swept twice daily to clear debris and prevent soil and clay build-up.

Stage three of the works is expected to begin in 2027 after the initial three-month works are complete.
