VIDEO – Kerikeri actor Ani Palmer lights up the big screen

When community boards grant funding for kaupapa in the performing arts, they are helping rangatahi find their feet, build confidence and develop their skills as actors, dancers, musicians and technicians. An alumna of Kerikeri Theatre Company’s Youth Theatre programme, local actor Ani Palmer cut her teeth in numerous productions before landing the lead role in a major new NZ film, Big Girls Don’t Cry. In the video below, the theatre company’s president, John Oszajca, explains why community board funding plays such a vital role in nurturing and encouraging the district’s young creative talent to take centre stage.
