The clean-up following a severe weather event that barrelled through the region earlier this month is progressing, with Far North District Council contractors dealing with more than 200 reported incidents on nearly 40 roads.
Residents in the Ōpononi–Ōmāpere are being thanked for their efforts to save water after two storage reservoirs supplying the communities almost drained due to burst water mains.
Contractors have reopened the Rawhiti Road bridge at Ngaiotonga tonight providing much needed alternative access to coastal communities cut off by a major slip blocking Russell Road at Helena Bay Hill.
